Switching cat food – 3 tips

If your cat doesn't like his food, it's time to change the diet. Here we have some tips on how it goes when you build in a new food for your cat.

List: Keep this in mind when changing food

1. Do not change immediately
When you bring your kitten home, you usually get food from the breeder. The food works well in the beginning, but a cat needs different food at different stages of life. It is good if you wait at least a month before your newly arrived kitten gets its new food. Too many changes at the same time can stress the cat.

2. Take it slow
It is important that the feed change is slow. Change the new diet gradually. It is not uncommon for cats to react to food changes. For example, they can get sick in the stomach. Then stop and decrease the amount of the new food until the cat's stomach is used to it, after which you can gradually increase it again.

3. Eating through life
Cats need different food throughout life:kittens, older cats, neutered and unneutered, and outdoor and indoor cats need different foods.
