Building on last year's huge success, Radio 10 DJ Gerard Ekdom is launching the search for the Nicest Dog in the Netherlands once more. Owners nationwide can enter their dogs to succeed labradoodle Pieter as the top canine star. The contest starts today, culminating in the winner announcement on September 18—honoring the nicest, funniest, most beautiful, smartest, and overall best dog in the country.

Listeners with standout dogs can register from today until Sunday, September 13, by submitting a photo or video plus motivation at radio10.nl. A professional jury led by dog expert Martin Gaus will review entries, announcing a shortlist of five on Monday, September 14. Vote for your favorite until September 18 at 08:30 AM. That morning on 'Ekdom in de Morgen,' the winner takes home the title 'Nicest Dog in the Netherlands,' a custom trophy ('brokaal'), and free dog food for a year.
