The KÄT features comfortable cushions for humans, but its frame is crafted from durable corrugated cardboard—ideal for cats to sharpen their claws without damaging your home.
Made entirely from responsibly sourced cardboard from trees in northern Sweden, every piece is carefully selected and processed to minimize waste. IKEA utilizes the full tree, ensuring sustainable production.
IKEA spokesperson Lykke Eklund notes that KÄT is believed to be the world's first sofa of its kind, developed after a year-long study of how people coexist with their pets.
IKEA will closely track sales over the coming months to gauge demand, paving the way for more pet-focused products.
Already available in Japan since January, KÄT launches in the US this summer. We're hopeful it reaches France soon too!
