Last weekend, the annual World's Ugliest Dog contest unfolded in California, crowning Scamp the Tramp as this year's champion. Rescued in 2014 by his devoted owner, Yvonne Morones, Scamp's journey began with an online discovery on PetFinder—a true swipe-right love story that saved him in his final hour.
“It was on the way home that I knew I had made the right choice. There we were, two strangers in a car on their way home for a fresh start. Bob Marley played 'One Love,' and I looked around and little Scamp bobbed his head. It was as if he knew he had found his forever home,” Yvonne shared.
Today, Scamp and Yvonne jetted off to New York for a live appearance on NBC's Today Show. His prizes include a massive trophy, $1,500 in cash, and a donated matching prize to be shared among several charities.

Wild Thang
Scamp competed against 18 other dogs, many rescues like him. Runner-up Wild Thang is owned by Ann Lewis, third place went to Tostito owned by Molly Horgan (who also snagged the Spirit Award), and the People's Choice Award honored Meatloaf, owned by Denae Pruner.
