A social media survey by Lucht Publishers, polling 1,495 mostly female participants, uncovers profound insights into pet companionship. Over 63% of Dutch women report feeling better with their dog than with their life partner. Friends rank even lower—a striking 74% prefer spending time with their dog.
Dogs also boost well-being, per the findings. An impressive 95% of respondents feel less lonely and happier thanks to their pet. More than 88% credit their dog for essential daily exercise. Participants highlight the dog's honesty, respect, and unconditional friendship as keys to this enduring bond.
