New Study Uncovers Pets' Surprising Impact on Sleep Quality

A recent study examines how pets influence our nightly rest. Researchers found that 56% of pet owners allow their animals to sleep in the bedroom. Of these, 20% reported disruptions to their sleep, while more than twice as many (41%) experienced no effect or even benefits.

Key findings include:
87.5% of respondents let their pets sleep in their beds.
Almost 60% reported no or beneficial effects on sleep—a higher rate than in prior research.
24.1% noted worse sleep due to pets.
16.7% were certain their pets affected their sleep.
71.6% of people with bed partners reported sleeping worse with pets in bed than those without.
32% of people without bed partners reported sleeping better with pets in bed.
