There you go, you got rid of food moths naturally :-)

Easy, fast and efficient, right?

You see, no need to use chemicals to control moths.

Diatomaceous Earth is a natural and ecological product. It does not represent any danger for your health or that of your animals.

It's still reassuring when moth repellents come into contact with food, isn't it?

And it's very practical to fight against moths when you don't have trichogramma on hand!

Not only do you protect your food from moths, but also from moisture, sprouting and mold.

Bonus Tips

- When you use your food, simply pass it under water to rinse it and remove the diatomaceous earth. But anyway, you don't have to worry:you can eat diatomaceous earth without risk. It is even recommended for a detox cure!

- This trick is very effective for pulses, wheat, rice... But it's more complicated to use it with flour. Because it will be almost impossible to separate the diatomaceous earth from the flour.

- You can use this tip as a preventive measure, even before food moths appear.

Why does it work?

Diatomaceous earth is a natural product considered to be a formidable insecticide. It is even used in organic farming.

It is a mixture of volcanic rocks and fossilized marine microorganisms:diatomite.

As it is composed of microscopic sharp and cutting elements, it acts as an abrasive on insects.

In addition, it has a strong absorption power:it can absorb up to 130 times its weight in liquid. It literally dries out the insects that come into contact with it. They eventually dehydrate and die.

It acts in a mechanical way:thus, the insects cannot develop an habituation.

Where to buy diatomaceous earth?

Always take food and organic diatomaceous earth for this use.

To buy edible diatomaceous earth, go to organic stores, garden centers, DIY stores, or here on the Internet.

Food moths, what are they?

Food moths are small gray or white butterflies a few millimeters in length.

In general, we bring them home while shopping:a larva or a cocoon can be in or on the package even closed. Or they come from outside.

They lay eggs in flour, rice, or pulses... Then after a few days larvae are born and feed on your precious food.

In addition, they love organic products, since there are no insecticides in them.

A female moth can lay up to 200 eggs! It is therefore important to intervene quickly.

Finding them is simple. You may see these little butterflies flying around closets. Or, when you open a package, you will notice the presence of small worms in the food or a cocoon.

Only one reflex:throw everything in the trash and empty it quickly and use this economical remedy.
